The single-family house is situated in a picturesque part of Gdańsk (Poland), next to the lake in surrounding of the Tri-City Landscape Park.
The architecture fits in with the Scandinavian style. Its simple shape blends in the surrounding landscape which was one of the main aim of the project.
We divided the building into two parts connected by a glazed bridge. From the west, there is a day zone with a living room and a kitchen. From the east, a night area with bedrooms. In the central part of the building there is a dining room. It integrates both volumes of the building but also conducives to build family relationships during shared meals.
There is also an additional small sauna building on the lake shore. Full walls from the side of the neighbor and glazed ones from the side of the lake create the comfort of using the relaxation area.
The above allows to create the architecture that provides intimacy for the residents. At the same time large glazing allows the contact with a nature.
The project also uses ecological solutions like solar technologies, heat pumps or rainwater management. We designed the façade with the ecological and natural materials which additionally makes the building blend in with the surrounding landscape. This is also the approach in line with the trends of sustainable architecture.
